Discover the joy of counted cross stitch while learning the essential tools and techniques. You’ll practice finding the center of your design, plying your thread, starting with neat X’s, and adding backstitching to bring definition and detail to your work. With each stitch, watch your design come to life and experience the relaxing rhythm of this timeless craft.

Joan has over 36 years of experience in the needlework industry, serving as Manager and later Manager/Part Owner at Fiddlesticks/Fiddlesticks Too. She has taught both beginning and advanced courses in cross stitch and needlepoint, often incorporating embroidery and stumpwork into her designs. Joan has also studied with national designers at The National Needlework Association trade shows. For her, stitching isn’t just an art — it’s great therapy.
