You Are My Sunshine: A Miniature Sunflower Scene in a Tin IN PERSON Krauss Hall, UH Manoa

ID : 877

« back to classes page

Create a charming 2.25"x3.5" sunflower-themed miniature scene tucked inside a lidded tin — small enough to carry in your pocket or purse. You’ll craft a tiny world sure to delight family, friends, and even curious strangers when you open it to share. Sunflowers are among the most beloved flowers – they are easy to grow, last a long while and make us happy just to see them! This tin will have everything needed for a miniature sunflower bonanza – the flowers themselves, watering can, seed packets, a watermelon birdhouse and more

Frances learned to make small scenes from her mom, a gifted miniaturist, who initially worked in 1" scale (1"=1') but moved on to smaller scales. She embraced the smaller scale especially and recently began creating themed scenes in small metal tins. Themes include sunflowers, holidays, celebrations, life events, etc.
