Everybody has stories to tell, but telling your stories well is an art and a craft. It can be learned and improved—and it’s FUN!
Each class has a theme, a lesson, a tale from Jeff, and a storytelling “workout” session. Using your own personal experiences, you’ll learn techniques for grabbing and holding an audience while developing your skills as an active listener as others tell their stories. Simple skill exercises build from week to week, tailored to the tale on your tongue. There’s plenty of focused socializing and practice in ever-changing pairs.
We’ll explore “The Wheel” of storytelling techniques, including mime, sound effects, words (written vs. spoken), characters and accents, imagination, dynamics, silence, humor, horror, and other tools that bring a story to life. Come learn to tell well—two hours will fly by! Specific information to help you prepare will be sent after registration.
