Manoa One Card (UH ID) FAQs
What is an OLLI Manoa One Card?
OLLI members are considered non-regular students by UH Manoa. Unlike students enrolled in regular credit courses, OLLI members are not eligible for a UH email account.OLLI members may purchase a Manoa One Card for $10. The card has an expiration date and provides certain benefits available to OLLI members. These benefits are more limited than those available to regular UH students and are subject to change.
Don't have a card yet? See How do I get a Manoa One Card (UH ID)?
Can I use the UH libraries?
Yes, with limitations. An OLLI Manoa One Card allows access to Hamilton Library, use of public-access computers, and the ability to check out books. Cardholders can also load money onto the card for printing.
It does not provide access to online databases or library computer labs because OLLI members do not have UH usernames.
For current details, see the UH Manoa Library's Borrowing Privileges and Access page and look under UHM Special Programs – Osher Institute/Life Long Learning Program.
When will my Manoa One Card expire?
OLLI Fiscal 2027 cards will expire September 30, 2027, regardless of when during the membership year the card is obtained.
Can OLLI members use the Rainbow Shuttle?
Yes. An OLLI Manoa One Card allows OLLI members to use the Rainbow Shuttle. However, available routes may not be useful for getting to and from campus and can change from year to year. See current Rainbow Shuttle routes and schedules here.
What discounts are available to OLLI members?
Your Manoa One Card can be used for discounts at the UH Bookstore, Kennedy Theatre, and some non-UH organizations. Discounts can change, and there is no comprehensive OLLI list.
Can OLLI members on the neighbor islands also get Manoa One Cards?
Yes, but there may be little practical benefit for members who are not on O?ahu.
Why doesn’t my OLLI Manoa One Card give me the same benefits other UH students receive?
UH M?noa distinguishes between regular students, who are enrolled in regular credit coursework, and non-regular students, which includes people enrolled in non-credit and other special programs. OLLI members are non-regular students.
Regular students pay mandatory student fees that support many student services and benefits. OLLI members do not pay those fees, so the benefits associated with an OLLI Manoa One Card are more limited. OLLI members are also not eligible for UH email accounts or UH usernames. Benefits available to non-regular students are subject to change.

REGISTRATION
How do I register for classes? [See OLLI-UHM Registration Quick Guide]
We have two registration phases: Priority-Request Registration (PRR) and Open Registration.
Priority-Request Registration (September 1 - 14)
PRR lets you request and rank the classes you most want before seats are assigned. After PRR closes, our system enrolls members based on the order of each request.
- Why it matters: PRR is especially important for limited-capacity classes (in-person or intentionally small).
- How to choose: Rank smaller classes higher if they are important to you—this increases your chances of getting in.
- Limits:
- You may rank up to 5 of the 50+ offerings (including SIGs).
- You cannot assign more than one class as #1.
- Any priorities beyond 5 will be deleted.
- Tip: Classes with <15 seats ? rank #1. Classes with no limit ? safe to rank #5.
- If full: A waitlist is created in priority order.
- Sorting date: May 21.
After PRR, you can add or drop classes first-come, first-served throughout the term, as long as space is available. Use the Add to Cart procedure.
Strategic Planning Tips
Be Strategic: As you go through the course catalog, jot down your course choices and potential priorities on paper.
Further Considerations If interested in more than five courses, especially if some have unlimited spots, consider saving them for Phase 2 (Open Registration) to optimize your chances in the initial sorting.
