This course will deal with the grand strategy and major dimensions and doctrines of US foreign policy, such as: isolationism, internationalism, realism, and idealism, since the origin of the Republic. Emphasis will be placed on contemporary global issues such as: war, the global economy (tariffs and trade), pandemics, terrorism, foreign aid, climate change, human rights, global democratization, China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and the European Union. The course will focus on whether America is a declining power or whether it is possible to "Make America Great Again." There will be plenty of time for comments and questions.
