This course will explore the basic concepts of music theory as they pertain to the ukulele. These lessons will help explain the music we play and listen to as well as how to use music theory to enhance our playing. Concepts that we will explore include how to read scales and chords, how to transpose, and analyzing songs. After this course, students will be able to determine the key of songs, change keys of songs, use inversions to add extra color to chords, and figure out chords without needing a chord chart. Handouts will be given out as extra practice on the concepts learned in class.
