Should the US adopt the British political system? This course will discuss the differences and similarities between the political systems of the US and the United Kingdom. It will also question the role of the monarchy, and whether it should be replaced by a republic. Also, will the United Kingdom break up in the post-Brexit future with an independent Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland? The course will conclude with a discussion of British foreign policy toward the US, Europe, and the Commonwealth. Each class will begin with a lecture, but there will be plenty of time for comments and questions. I will provide updates for the course via e-mail.

Prof Weiner has taught a course on British Politics and Government at the University of Massachusetts/Boston for a number of years. It is very interesting to compare the British and American political systems.
